BRIEF SUMMARY
The module 1 of the Diploma in Hydrology and Hydrogeology consists of the reinforcement of fundamental concepts for understanding the relationship between surface and groundwater. The importance of studying geological, structural, and geomorphological aspects in relation to surface water will be discussed.
Different classifications of hydrogeological units and their hydraulic characteristics will be distinguished. Additionally, a retrospective of the use of aerial imagery in hydrological and hydrogeological studies will be provided, along with methods for interpreting data generated from this tool in geosciences.
Finally, students will strengthen their skills for the basic analysis of hydrological and hydrogeological mapping, which includes the generation of potential regional groundwater flow lines.
BENEFITS
► Access to the International Diploma in Hydrology and Hydrogeology.
► Get trained by a speaker with vast experience on the subject.
►Receive materials for each module such as slides, manuals and data that you can keep.
► Freedom to access a course on the day and at the time you want, as well as to pause and go back the class as many times as necessary until you fully assimilate the knowledge that is provided.
► Access to the network of professionals from various countries of the world. Technicians, university students, engineers, masters, doctors, post-doctors and the general public related to the professional field participate in our diploma course.
► Access to the database of queries and answers from the participants, as well as the technical reports generated in each module and the supporting theses.
OBJECTIVES
► Reinforce the fundamental technical concepts in surface and groundwater hydrology.
► Identify the relationship between watershed and hydrogeological basin, as well as their differences.
► Distinguish the geomorphologies associated with water resources, as well as lithostratigraphic and structural relationships.
► Understand the different patterns of surface flow drainage.
► Assimilate the use of aerial imagery in specific applications related to surface and groundwater.
► Strengthen the understanding of hydrological and hydrogeological mapping.
► Encourage the use and application of free Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
► Define and analyze regional patterns of groundwater flow.
